College Now is a collaborative effort between the City University of New York (CUNY) and the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) to improve NYC public high school students’ academic achievement.
Through College Now, students become immersed in and inspired by Baruch campus life through visiting facilities and participating in academic, social, and cultural events. Interaction with our faculty and students provides College Now students with an authentic college experience. This eases the transition from high school to college and prepares students for a successful academic career.
Although both College Now and AP courses provide students with rigorous and challenging course work, there are some significant differences.
AP classes are high school courses that award high school credit. Note, students who take the AP exam can earn college credit dependent on the exam score received (usually a 4 or 5).
College Now courses are undergraduate level courses that award college credit upon successful completion of the course.
To apply to our programs, an applicant must be a current NYC public high school student.
Applicants for our college-credit courses must be in the 11th or 12th grade during the semester they are participating.
STEM Research Academy applicants must be in either the 10th or 11th grade and from a historically underrepresented group within science.
Academic requirements for each program vary (ELA, PSAT/SAT scores, GPA, etc.). Please visit each program page for more details.
Note, undocumented NYC public high school students and NYC home-schooled students (with OSIS#) are welcome to apply to our programs.
Baruch College Now is officially partnered with the following high schools. Students from these high schools receive priority when applying to any of our programs.
